My Watercolor Journey
Way before I had a YouTube channel (even before YouTube existed!) I dreamed of creating gorgeous watercolors like I saw in the watercolor instruction books that I checked out weekly from my local library.
There were lots of tears and frustration before I could start to get the effects that I wanted. Without a watercolor teacher or video demonstrations from artists to guide me, I made so many mistakes over and over again.
A Long and Slow Process
Though I am proud that I stuck with it, I was in my early 20’s and I had time and the mental/emotional capacity to deal with the slow, laborious process of teaching myself watercolors. For someone else that runs a household, is raising kids, and has other time-consuming responsibilities, so much trial and error is just not feasible.
That’s why I’m so passionate about helping people like you to learn watercolor as efficiently and frustration-free as possible. I want to help you start enjoying the beauty of watercolors, the feeling of calm that creativity brings, and get you feeling proud of your results faster than would be possible through trial and error.
My Teaching Journey
I never imagined that I would go from artist to online teacher, but I am so excited about this path because I am a helper at heart!
I am so honored to be able to share what I know with others through my YouTube Channel, watercolor courses on SkillShare, and my newest project (that I am over-the-moon proud of and excited about) my watercolor membership, Watercolor Voyage.
Speaking of Having More Responsibility…
Over the last 10 years, “Adulting” happened to me big-time and painting had taken a backseat to the responsibility of raising 2 babies.
I am always trying to find more balance between attending to the needs of my family, running a business, and making time for art and sometimes it does get really hard, so I get what you’re going through!
